
PhDr. Lenka Veselá, Ph.D., is a research scholar at the Library of the Czech Academy of Sciences, where she heads the Centre for Advanced Book History Research and the Research and Development Department. She also teaches as an external lecturer at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University. Her scholarly research focuses on the history of early modern Czech book culture, on the history of libraries, printing, and the issue of Swedish literary spoils of war from the Czech lands.
She is the author of several scholarly monographs, including Jews and Czech Society as Reflected in Literature (2003), Books at the Rosenberg Court (2005), The Knight and the Intellectual: Hieronymus Beck of Leopoldsdorf and His Library (2016), and Swedish Literary Spoils of War from the Czech Lands (2025). Together with J. Marek, she is also the co-author of Collectors and Readers: Manuscripts in Czech Libraries of the Rudolfine Period (2026, forthcoming). She has also served as principal investigator of several applied research projects, including Knihověda.cz – A Portal on the History of Czech Book Culture up to 1800 and the Bibliographic and Information Portal “Swedish Literary Spoils of War from the Czech Lands”.
